The discovery of the ocean, in 1954, turned René Duvillier's painting (1919-2002) upside down like a storm in the Ardennes in the 1960s. The force of the waves that almost panicked him revealed a hallucinatory relationship between our body, space and memory.
René Duvillier's path has now been traced, that of an art strongly linked to the forces of nature that will liberate more and more explicitly until his death in 2002 the dyonisiac forces that Nietzsche explains in The Birth of Greek Tragedy.
The Alain Margaron Gallery devoted several solo exhibitions to René Duvillier during his lifetime. We continue to show his works on a regular basis.
